European ADRs Shift Higher in Wednesday Trading

American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.66% higher at 123.81 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by computer hardware company Logitech (LOGI), and 3D printer maker voxeljet (VJET), which rose 2.8% each. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telecom Italia (TI), and electronics company Philips Electronics (PHG), which were up 2.6% and 2.4%. The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical firm DBV Technologies (DBVT), and biotech company Forward Pharma (FWP), which fell 9.7% and 8.2% respectively. They were followed by biotech company argenx (ARGX), and health care company Novo Nordisk (NVO), which dropped 1.4% and 1%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by specialty pharmaceutical company Midatech Pharma (MTP), and pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL), which climbed 6% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm NuCana (NCNA), and educational media company Pearson (PSO), which rose 2.9% each. The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by tobacco and consumer goods company British American Tobacco (BTI), and oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell (RDS), which lost 0.9% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by mining company Rio Tinto (RIO), and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which were off 0.7% and 0.5%.
